The Fall 2010 issue of Interweave Knits goes classic in "Carved in Wool," reinvents heritage techniques in "Pied de Grue", dresses up easy knitting in "Pure and Simple," explores eight knitted variations on plaid in "Check and Stripe", and looks at creative constructions in "The Architect Knits". Here is a selection of patterns featured in this issue:
Alpen Socken The Proverbial Cap
Bavarian Tulip Mittens - these feature Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted, which is available to order, but you can substitute any other worsted yarn such as Araucania Nature Wool or Patons Classic Wool.
Running Stitch Skirt - this pattern features Plymouth Galway Worsted which is available to pre-order. Or a great wool substitute is Patons Classic Wool or even Lamb's Pride Worsted, from Brown Sheep Company. I just love knitted homewares and this issue of Interweave Knits has some fab argyle designs and bolster cushions in pure wool from manos del Uruguay. We suggest substituting for pure wool from Patons or Abuelita:
Our Abuelita Baby Merino Lace is a good substitute for the Slanting Plaid Stole. And the super-soft and lovely Brown Sheep Serendipity Tweed is featured in the Tamarix Quilt:
