I learned to crochet as a child, from my Grandmother, but only as an adult did I rediscover this wonderful craft (and only recently I might add!).  I love to crochet as there are such a huge variety of stitches and effects that can be utilised so that you can create a project that is unique and entirely from your vision.  Crochet is also endlessly creative - there are so many cool little things that can be made such as amigurumi, for one!!  (I am a self-professed addict).

But, you may ask...what inspired you to open a yarn store?  Well I bought my first Lion Brand yarn from a Spotlight store here in Australia - it was on a clearance table, and from those six HUGE skeins, I managed to crochet two large afghans and I still have one skein left over!  (Perfect for "100 One-Skein Wonders!").  I became enamoured with their colours and the value can't be beaten - on average three and a half times the same yarn in a 50g ball.  So I wanted to let other people know how good value Lion Brand is and what a large range of yarn types they have available.  Oh and the free patterns are amazing!

I also decided to stock other brands such as Red Heart (for all those American expats in Australia!) and other unique yarns.  That's why you'll find small amounts of some cool yarns that I get at great discounted rates.

But having said all that, let's not forget the knitters out there!  Even though I can't knit that well, I love and respect what you can do with a pair of needles!  My aunt is a wonderful knitter (who can't crochet) and I have great respect for the lovely garments she produces.  So that's why you'll find some great PDf patterns for knitters too.  Feel free to download and print all patterns - they have been reproduced with permission from the respective companies.  I also have some links to other yarn and craft sites as well.
